Global Entrepreneurship Week Logo The Launch Pad of the University of Miami is celebrating Global Entrepreneurship with events from November 16, 2009 through November 20, 2009. This year’s educational sessions, keynote speakers and unforgettable special events will certainly create an amazing forum for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Global Entrepreneurship Week is a growing movement of innovative thinkers promoting entrepreneurial activities worldwide (administered by the Public Policy Institute in Washington D.C.), committed to inspiring young people to embrace innovation, imagination and creativity. Last year, The Launch Pad was the #1 US Global Entrepreneurship Week partner (out of 1174 participants).

Elevator Pitch Contest

The Launch Pad, and sponsor OfficeMax are please to present the first annual Elevator Pitch Contest as part of our Global Entrepreneurship Week celebration. Like many of this year's events, the Elevator Pitch Contest is a widely-popular, action-oriented event, designed to highlight the transformative role of communication in the launch of a new business or venture. The Launch Pad at Toppel, the University of Miami entrepreneurship and innovation resource center, is hosting an Entrepreneurship Fair as part of our 2009 Global Entrepreneurship Week celebration. The Fair takes place November 16th from 10:00am - 1:00pm where University of Miami students, alumni and faculty members will have the opportunity to showcase their businesses as part of our commitment to entrepreneurship. How It Works: After becoming registered and approved by The Launch Pad, each business will be allotted space in the UC lower lounge to advertise and promote their products and services to the University of Miami community, guests and Global Entrepreneurship Week guests. The deadline for entry is November 11, 2009.

Non Profit Entrepreneurship Fair

How It Works: After becoming registered and approved by The Launch Pad, each nonprofit organization will be allotted space in the UC lower lounge to advertise and promote their services to the University of Miami community, guests and Global Entrepreneurship Week guests. Mobile Apps and Gaming Summit

On Friday, November 20th, the Mobile Apps and Gaming Summit will be held at the University of Miami Coral Gables campus from 1:00 to 6:00 pm. In addition to notable speakers, including Nelson Gonzalez (founder of Alienware), developers will be able to showcase their work for students and fans.

Registration is free, food will be provided through-out.
