The Miami Open211 project is making it easier to find and use information about the availability of health, human, and social services to Miami-Dade residents in need.
Join us at Venture Cafe, in the Cambridge Innovation Center, for a presentation of our work to date and a discussion of where we go from here. In partnership with Code for Miami and the Open Referral Initiative — and with funding from the Children’s Trust of Miami-Dade County, plus support from Jewish Community Services of South Florida — Miami Open211 has transformed Switchboard of Miami’s 2-1-1 resource directory database into an ‘open platform,’ which can now provide critical data about the availability of community resources as a public service to an ecosystem of nonprofits, governments, funders, and startups.
In this presentation, we will tell the story of Switchboard of Miami and Open211, share some of the lessons we’ve learned so far, and engage participants to imagine ways in which we might transform Miami’s safety net.
