SUMMARY:Agile Requirements and Planning Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The increased speed of change brought about by the volatile\, uncertain\, complex\, and ambiguous nature of today’s world requires a value driven\, iterative\, and adaptive approach to requirements and planning. It requires a collaborative effort that involves both the team doing the work and the stakeholders who impact\, or are impacted by that work. This Agile Requirements and Planning Workshop offers participants the first hand knowledge\, experience\, and confidence to tackle the requirements and planning of projects / products and services using an Agile\, value driven and adaptive approach.\nBeginning with a clear understanding of how Agile requirements and planning differ from a more traditional approach\, participants take a deep dive into User Stories – learning how to collaboratively elicit and capture requirements from the perspective of the user and how to structure those requirements into vertical slivers of functionality that enable early and frequent delivery of value. Participants deepen their understanding of the new and critical role of Product Owner\,introduced by the Scrum Framework\, and the evolving role of the Business Analyst in creating a shared understanding of the work and ensuring the team is building the right product/service.\nThe hands-on experiential nature of the workshop has participants working in teams to simulate real-world requirements elicitation and planning through a team project – using popular and effective Agile tools and techniques including Personas\, Product Visioning\, User Story Mapping\, User Story Writing\, High Speed Estimating\, Planning Poker\, Story Splitting\, Acceptance Criteria and more.\nThe Agile planning process is incomplete without the elements of inspection and adaptation. Throughout the workshop\, participants learn how to use feedback loops that are part of Scrum and other Agile methodologies to more accurately forecast outcomes and adapt when circumstances demand it to ensure the product or service delivered consistently delights customers and generates business value.\nDuration:\n2 – Days\nTarget Audience:\nProduct Owners\, Business / Functional / Systems Analysts\, Product Managers\, Project Managers\, Functional Managers\, Agile Team Members or anyone else interested in learning how to elicit requirements and plan Agile projects to early delivery of value.\nLearning Objectives:\nSend an email to aleon@ppl-coach.com for detailed learning objectives\nLearning Credits:\n t14 PDUs for PMI\n t14 SEUs for Scrum Alliance\nFacilitator:\nAnjali Leon is a veteran Agile Coach and Trainer having worked in industries including high-tech\, energy\, education\, healthcare\, retail\, and government. Her experience as an Agile Practicioner and her prior fifteen years of technical and leadership experience in a variety of roles – including Lead Software Engineer and Director of Product Development\, give her the unique perspective of the delicate balance between discipline and flexibility necessary for organizations to be agile and remain competitive.\nAnjali brings her vast experience\, an interactive\, participatory and engaging teaching style\, and Training from the Back of the Room techniques to create an experience that not only leave her learners feeling inspired\, knowledgeable\, competent\, and energized to put their learning into practice\, but looking forward to the next time they can attend one of her classes!\nHer credentials include a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Drexel University. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a panel of women leaders in tech to talk breaking in\, success\, challenges and navigating a fast paced environment. We have four amazing panelists\,  being monitored by Wyncode’s own co-founder\, Johanna Mikkola.\nLaura Maydon\, managing director at Endeavor Miami.\nRebekah Monson\, co-founder of WhereBy.Us.\nLauren Leibowitz\, Software Engineer at CareCloud.\nNathali Amaro\, founder at Honey Words App.\nAndrea Bailey\, Developer with 10 years experience (now teaching for Wyncode!)\nDoes this gender ratio look all too familiar?\nYeah…us too.\nTech is one of the hardest industries for anyone to break into nowadays. However\, as any woman who has been in a fantasty-football loving\, video-game and Star Trek enthusiast office may know\, it can be particularly hard for women to be considered a “culture fit” in some tech offices.\nWomen often don’t even think about tech as an option for a future career. For a while now\, the industry has been marketed to a primarily male population (despite the strong influence of women early on in computer science history).\nHowever\, we are lucky enough to be in a city whose tech industry is being built from the ground up around its own diverse population. Right here in Miami\, we have incredible female leaders taking charge in our community.\nWyncode is excited to host a panel of just a few of these amazing women at our brand new Wynbase campus in Wynwood. It will be moderated by Wyncode’s very own female co-founder\, Johanna Mikkola. Our panelists will share personal stories of both successes and challenges along their professional journeys\, advice on how to break into the industry\, and tips about how to succeed as a woman in tech.\n(Our panel host above right\, Wyncode co-founder Johanna Mikkola\, is a pro at navigating all male work environments in the tech world and beyond.)\nOur panel will be followed by a Q&A session\, and the event will include time to meet and greet the panelists and other attendees before and after the panel. Wine and snacks will be served.
