James Hansen, a 2022 M.S. in Finance graduate from the University of Miami’s Herbert Business School, is the driving force behind Pre Dev, a company that empowers non-technical founders to bring their ideas to life.

Bridging the Gap for Non-Technical Entrepreneurs

Pre Dev offers a suite of intuitive AI tools designed to help non-technical founders accelerate the development of their Minimum Viable Product (MVP), prototype, or app. This innovative platform solves a major pain point for those with fantastic ideas but lack the coding expertise to turn them into reality.

A Seasoned Professional with a New Vision

James Hansen isn’t your typical entrepreneur. Before Pre Dev, he was a seasoned professional in the world of finance, with a strong background in trading desk support and venture capital analysis. His keen analytical mind and deep understanding of financial markets made him a valuable asset in his previous roles.

However, James’ passion for technology led him to a different path. He leveraged his experience at the University of Miami’s Cane Angel Network, where he served as a Venture Capitalist Analyst, honing his skills in identifying emerging tech trends and evaluating early-stage startups.

Building Success with Innovation and Adaptation

Launched in August 2023, Pre Dev has already seen impressive growth. Their platform boasts over 50,000 messages exchanged, 4,000 projects initiated, and 1,000 users relying on Pre Dev as their go-to solution for project planning and software architecture development.

The road to success wasn’t always smooth sailing. Initially, Pre Dev targeted development agencies with a high-ticket SaaS model. While initially successful, James recognized the need for adaptation. They received valuable feedback from their clients, leading them to refine their product features and create a more accessible pricing model.

Pre Dev has also navigated internal organizational changes, requiring critical decision-making from stakeholders. They’ve faced challenges head-on, and after celebrating their 1-year anniversary, they’re well aware of the high startup failure rate.

The Launch Pad Connection & Advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

With a passion for supporting the next generation of innovators, James is excited to explore a potential partnership with the Launch Pad at the University of Miami. He believes in building a strong team with unwavering belief in the startup vision before seeking capital.

“Don’t be afraid to talk about your idea,” James emphasizes. Sharing your vision can generate valuable feedback and connect you with like-minded individuals who can help propel your dream forward.
